The quaint and historic Village of Hawkhurst has a history dominated by the notorious Hawkhurst Gang of Smugglers who terrorised the surrounding area between 1735 and 1749. Hawkhurst is conveniently located within easy driving distance of the A21 providing access to the M25 to the north and the A21 south down to the Coast.
